THE TWILIGHT RACE: A Daggerheart Adventure in the Witherwild

You spent an evening trusting three raccoons in a trench coat, and by the time you work out why, you're already running.

The Twilight Race is the session where the Fanewraith finally shows her hand: she was never offering partnership, she was checking whose blood a three-hundred-year-old door would recognize. It is built for level 6 characters and runs as a single evening that moves from a warm tavern conversation into a dead sprint, through a blood price, and out the other side into something far worse than either.

Perfect for groups who want a con that turns into a chase, a door that plays favorites, and a crossing built to be survived rather than won, this adventure includes:

A tavern con with real stakes, the Fanewraith buys the first round and asks careful questions under the friendliness. A single Instinct roll, or her own slipping tongue, tells the party what she's actually doing before she can act on it

A chase, not a fight, a full countdown mechanic for fleeing her and her hired Sellswords across the canopy, with an optional beat to bribe a guard off the pursuit for coin, a fish, or an old favor

A toll with teeth, the tree only opens for blood the spirits already recognize, which is exactly why the Fanewraith needs the party in the first place, and exactly why she can't just take the door herself

Two branches, not one, Clean Arrival and Caught at the Door play out completely differently depending on how the chase resolves, right down to whether the Fanewraith makes it through ahead of the party or gets locked out furious on the wrong side

A collaborative dream sequence, a round-table prompt that seeds the Chaos Realm with the party's own fears and losses, and mechanically softens it for every real detail a player gives

The Chaos Realm itself, the official Tier 4 Traversal environment, Outer Realms Thralls, a Corrupter, and an Abomination, run a full tier above the party on purpose, with GM prompts built in to co-build the space with your table

A payoff at the Lightning Mountain, the party surfaces in the Chamber of Fire Cats to learn exactly how close Phylax already is

By the end, the party knows the shape of the race they're actually in, and possibly, depending on how the chase went, that the Fanewraith is already ahead of them.

The real question the campaign keeps asking isn't who reaches the Shepherd first. It's whether anyone should pluck a god's last eye at all.
